Von Dutch stunned at the first-ever Long Beach Fashion Week. While it may have been a single night, March 28, the LBC runway was an homage to Y2K fashion. Produced by Fr8qu8ncy and All In One Entertainment, fashionistas rallied at Thunder Studios/Infinite Reality in Long Beach for an exclusive look into the season’s Von Dutch Paris, Frisk Me Good, Thread Haus and illy Cartier collections.

Celebrating LBCFW, La Rosa Mexicana Restauarant a fine dining gem from La Habra, Calif., elevated the opening night with its signature house tequila, Nuestro Placer.

Going off-menu, the restaurant crafted specialty tequila-inspired cocktails that set the tone for an unforgettable evening, adding sophistication to an evening of fashion and celebrations.

Long Beach Fashion Stunned In Opening Night Featuring Von Dutch and other Y2K inspired fashions including brands Frisk Me Good, Thread Haus, illy Cartier and Model Mafia.

Collaborating with Von Dutch Paris, Frisk Me Good, Thread Haus, illy Cartier, Model Mafia —  cofounders of Long Beach Fashion WeekFr8qu8ncy’s founder, Emery Morrison and All In One Entertainment founder, Kevin Kim, noted they were inspired by the LBC’s vibrant, creative spirit, its influence and impact on global fashion, art and aimed to celebrate it with the debut of the LBCFW.

“With the Long Beach Fashion Week,” Kim, said. “We built this production and performance levels with our incredible team. We are excited for future fashion weeks and experiences at our home, Thunder Studio.” 

The runway was lit as statement pieces like low-rise jeans, baby tees and visible g-strings and iconic staples styled with Von Dutch denim jackets, branded accessories, and holographic finishes stunned in all true Y2K fashion.

Fashion brands Frisk Me Good, Thread Haus, and illy Cartier showcased a daring modern and bold self-expression on the runway. From the rebellious edge of Von Dutch’s iconic signature logo to the strikingly vibrant hues of bright, colorful stilettos, each element added an electrifying pop of energy and vibrancy to the show, where sexy effortlessly met unapologetically bold.

“We were excited to integrate fashion, gaming and exceptional R&B music,” Morrison said. “to give folks a taste of new experiential vibe that integrates technology. We were a little nervous, but it was well received.”

Official Launch of Envy Reality Fashion Tycoon Hosted By Dreka Gates

The massive LED wall revealed the visuals of the new, exciting fashion-focused Fortnite game during the LBCFW. Fr8qu8ncy with The Omniverse City, All In One Entertainment, and its partners released a teaser for the Envy Reality Fashion Tycoon game launching into Fortnite. Envy takes Fortnite players behind the scenes of a fashion runway contest with celebrity host, Dreka Gates. 

Going behind the scenes of the fashion show is inspired by the new Fortnite game, Envy Reality Fashion Tycoon, hosted by Dreka Gates, and presented at the Long Beach Fashion Week.

“Stepping into Fortnite with Envy,” Charlene Nichols, of Omniverse City and co-creator of Envy, said. “Is stepping into an illuminating runway and digital dreamscape, with bold graphics and holographic visuals. We’re not just redefining fashion. We’re taking it to the next level.” 

A buzzing behind the LBCFW scene showed creatives and models coming together to put on an electrifying Y2K fashion show featuring Von Dutch and modern stylings.

The announcement was met with tremendous excitement and according to Morrison, they, Envy already had a waitlist of players eager to start playing. 

“We’re gearing up for cool surprises and experiences that will break the fourth wall,” Morrison said.

Live From The LBC The Legendary Greg Mack

Greg Mack, known as the “Godfather of Hip-Hop Radio,” and for his contributions in shaping the West Coast hip-hop scene, broadcast live from the Long Beach Fashion Week.

Mack’s live coverage highlighted the intersection of music, fashion and community with an exclusive interview with Jon B, the multi-platinum R&B artist known for hits like “They Don’t Know” and “Are You Still Down.” 

The live conversation, syndicated nationwide, delved into Jon B’s enduring career, his love for hip-hop and his connection to the evolving music scene. Adding to the excitement, Jon B announced the recent release of his new album, Waiting on You, marking his first full-length project in over a decade. 

The album features collaborations with artists like Tank, Donell Jones, Rick Ross, and Alex Isley, showcasing Jon B’s signature blend of smooth R&B and heartfelt storytelling. 

A Medley Of Timeless Hits & R&B with Jon B. + Loomis

The finale was nothing short of a masterstroke. Blending the glamour of fashion with the allure of live music, the room felt like it went into an entrancing rhythm as Jon B. took the stage and serenaded with his hits. Next to fan favorites, Jon B. also performed new songs from the recently released album, Waiting For You.

Then, the spotlight shifted to songstress Loomis, whose performance also included her new single, “W8tin.” The Los Angeles songstress, known for her raw emotions and soulful vocals, sang lyrics with her modern R&B sound that struck with the vibing crowd.

Loomis recently donned a Von Dutch-inspired look in her W8tin music video as an ode to early 2000s brand and added her own a modern edge. The songtress, in red stielltoes walked the Von Dutch runway adorned in the Paris collection paried with a mystery designer eyewear which Fr8qu8ncy, All In One Entertainment with Dreka Gates have teased as “coming soon.”

The blend of live music and fashion created a multisensory experience, but together, Jon B. and Loomis brought a layer of cultural resonance that blended nostalgia and celebrated both the past and the future of R&B and fashion.

Loomis brought her signature edge and charisma to the Von Dutch runway, blending nostalgia with modern flair. In her latest video, she also donned a bold Von Dutch ensemble that paid homage to the brand’s iconic Y2K impact and culture.

 
Fashion Fr8quncy Always Bridging Communities With Opportunities

Beyond the glitz and glamor, Long Beach Fashion Week was also dedicated to making and finding meaningful business connections. Behind the scenes at the LBCFW, designers, models, musicians and industry leaders mingled effortlessly with influencers and visionaries to spark fresh ideas and cultivate partnerships.

The event also welcomed many prominent brands like Jarritos La Rosa Mexicana, Nuestro Placer. VIP guests including newly signed LA Reid and Usher recording artist, Jaydon McCrary and director, Joseph Guidry.

MD Studios art by Maria De la Cruz was also featured during the LBCFW.

And it wouldn’t be a Fr8qu8ncy event with out the artwork displayed. During the Long Beach Fashion Week Art Show MD Studios by Maria De la Cruz, interdisciplinary artist and Kourosh Esfandiari, pen and ink artist and digital creative house, works were exclusively on display and featured.
